Reset. Rise. Rebuild.

My name is Ebony Barksdale, Founder of Pathway to Hope Foundation LLC.

For many years, I was a single mother raising five children while working two jobs to provide for my family. Like so many women, I was determined to make ends meet, attend my children's school activities, and create a stable life despite the challenges we faced.

In 2012, I found myself in a verbally and emotionally abusive relationship. A few years later, after ending that relationship, my life changed in ways I never imagined. A violent confrontation led to a lengthy legal battle that left me fighting for my freedom and separated from my children while I worked to rebuild my life.

Although I had always managed my finances wisely and had savings to fall back on, rebuilding was not easy. After caring for a private client for eight years, I suddenly found myself searching for employment with an arrest record. Doors that once opened easily became much harder to walk through.

In 2021, I made the decision to leave California and start over in Las Vegas. Like many people rebuilding their lives, I faced uncertainty, financial pressure, and the emotional weight of wondering if my past would always define my future. There were moments of fear, anxiety, and disappointment, but there was also something greater—God's faithfulness.

Through every setback, God carried me. He provided opportunities when I could not see a way forward. He reminded me that my mistakes, my pain, and my circumstances did not determine my purpose.

Those experiences transformed my heart.

While I never experienced homelessness, I came to understand how quickly life can change and how difficult it can be to rebuild when barriers continue to follow you. I saw women leaving incarceration, escaping unhealthy relationships, or facing financial hardship with nowhere safe to go and no support system to help them move forward.

That is why I founded Pathway to Hope Foundation.

Our mission is to provide more than housing. We provide a safe, structured environment where women can heal, regain stability, reconnect with their purpose, and begin building a new future with dignity and hope.

I believe every woman deserves another opportunity—not because her past is forgotten, but because her future still matters.

Pathway to Hope is built on the belief that healing is possible, restoration is real, and with the right support, every woman has the opportunity to reset, rise, and create a new beginning.
